Startupnews.me came from D.I.Y. Startup news which was an experiment in user generated news. We wanted to create a site where people could go and post startup related stories without having to have a blog or get more coverage for their up and coming blog or startup.

D.I.Y. Startup news evolved when we started a pitching service where startups or developers could pitch their app or startup. Now the pitches are taking over and startupnews.me is being spun out to handle just the news.

Well there is a catch and the catch is it must be done with a maximum amount of 240 characters. The reason behind this is I want this site to be used on mobiles with out many problems and also to force posters to get to the point . The comments are not however limited in the same way.

How are you going to deal with spam I hear you say? Well every story is checked by a human before it is allowed to be displayed. There will be no editorial on any post. If its not deemed as spam, rude, racist etc then it goes.
